The Vancouver Whitecaps have made it official, signing forward Christian White to a USL contract, per MLSsoccer.com’s Rob Gale.

The 29-year-old White will make his debut in the Whitecaps’ USL debut against the Chicago Fire on Tuesday.

White was an MLS All-Star with the Columbus Crew in 2014.

The Whitecap have not made it to the playoffs in his first two seasons, going 0-2-1 in the Western Conference and drawing a pair of late-season playoff defeats.

White, who will wear No. 26, made his first-team MLS debut for the Crew in 2015 and earned MLS Player of the Week honors in 2016.

The MLS club is one of three clubs that have made a deal to sign White, along with the Philadelphia Union and New England Revolution.

White is set to make his professional debut at Providence Park on Saturday.
