BERLIN (Reuters) – Leipziger was the star of the Bundesliga last season and the man who could win a first title in four years.

But on Wednesday the 28-year-old German international said he was now feeling pressure.

“I’m thinking about my contract and I’m afraid that I’ll be at home for the rest of the year,” he told broadcaster Bild.

“It’s just the feeling of pressure, I’m scared that I might not be able to play at all next season.”

Leipzig lost 4-0 to FC Augsburg in the league’s top-flight last month and have now lost three straight league matches, including a 1-0 defeat by Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The German international played just eight minutes of last season’s Champions League campaign and did not appear in the group stages of the tournament, where he was one of two players to miss out on the final four.

After his injury, Leip ziger said he would not miss any training sessions and would continue to train.

“We are working hard to be ready,” he said.

“We will do everything we can to get back.”

“I think I’ve shown that I can play in the Bundesliga, and I’ve already started training and I think I can train well again.”

There’s no pressure at all, the coach and the players have their own reasons for this, but I think that’s a good thing.

“A source close to the player told Reuters on Wednesday that he was worried about not being able to participate in training again this season and that he might not play for the entire season.”

It’s a bit worrying that the club can’t guarantee him a place to train and train again,” the source said.”

He’s been here for the last six months and has had a good relationship with the team.

The club wants to get him playing again.

“A spokesperson for Bayer Leverkommen confirmed that the German international had not been offered a contract extension and added that they would look into it.
