New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Fletcher Cox joined other NFL players in protesting the killing of Michael Brown by a Ferguson police officer.
“I think it’s just really important that the country can come together,” Beckham said after the protests.
“We can come to an understanding that there is no justice, no peace in this world.
I think it really speaks to the people of Ferguson, Missouri, and the people who’ve gone before them.”
Cox said he was protesting “against the violence, the brutality, the disrespect of our Constitution and the police, who are killing our men and women in blue.”
“They are trying to use their power against us, and we’re going to have to stand up to them,” Cox said.
